Music may come from a platform, but River’s goal is for worship to belong to the whole room.
Worship is something the congregation does
River Church Frankfurt does not describe worship as entertainment before the sermon. The music team leads, but the congregation is invited to sing, pray and direct attention toward Jesus together.
That distinction affects the atmosphere of both Sunday services and special gatherings such as conferences and prayer nights.
The goal is encounter, not production value
Good sound, lighting and preparation can support a service, but those tools are not the definition of worship. River’s stated emphasis is on people encountering Jesus, hearing the Word and responding to God.
First-time visitors can participate at their own pace
Someone visiting from another church tradition may not express worship exactly like the people around them. There is no need to imitate others. Visitors can observe, sing and engage at a pace that is honest for them.
