A family move works best when adults handle the official steps while children quickly gain familiar routes, people and weekly rhythms.
Start school questions with the city
The City of Frankfurt provides a tool for identifying the responsible primary school and directs families to the Stadtschulamt for advice. Use the official route early, especially when a move takes place close to the beginning of a school term.
Keep each child’s identity and school records organized and ask the responsible authority what is required for your exact situation. International and domestic moves do not always follow the same document path.
Give children familiar anchors quickly
Children often settle through repetition. Walk the route to school or childcare, identify the closest playground and practise the public transport journey together. A predictable Sunday or weekly activity can also give the whole family a shared point of stability.
