SERMON NOTES
Healed by the Blood
1. There Was No Sickness in Eden – Because There Was No Sin
Genesis 1:31 (NKJV)
“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.”
* Adam and Eve were perfectly whole—spirit, soul, and body.
* No pain. No aging. No anxiety. No disease.
Sickness didn’t exist until sin opened the door.
2. Sin Brought the Curse—Including Sickness
Genesis 3:17–19 – The curse brought toil, death, and decay.
Romans 5:12 (NKJV)
“Through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men…”
* The fall introduced spiritual separation, physical suffering, and mental torment.
* Sickness is not just a health issue—it’s a spiritual byproduct of a fallen world.
3. Jesus Came to Restore What Adam Lost
Romans 5:17 (NKJV)
“For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace… will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”
* Jesus didn’t just forgive sin—He came to reverse the curse.
* Healing is not a “perk”—it’s part of the package of redemption.
“Where sickness began, the blood ended it.”
4. The Cross Was Eden Reopened
John 19:41 (NKJV)
“Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden…”
* Jesus was crucified and buried in a garden.
The second Adam died in a garden so we could return to Eden.
I. THE BLOOD IS MULTI-DIMENSIONAL MEDICINE
Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5 gives us four wounds—and four healings:
1. Wounded for our transgressions
→ Forgiveness for the sins we’ve committed outwardly
2. Bruised for our iniquities
→ Healing for deep inner sin, cycles, and generational patterns
3. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him
→ Healing for the mind—mental illness, torment, anxiety, depression
4. By His stripes we are healed
→ Physical healing—sickness, pain, disease
Every drop of blood that hit the ground was a receipt. A receipt that says: PAID IN FULL.
II. THE WHIPPING POST – THE FORGOTTEN ALTAR
John 19:1 (NKJV)
“So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him.”
Matthew 27:26 (NKJV)
“Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.”
This was not just Roman brutality—it was a fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy.
Medical historians tell us that ancient scourging used a cat-o’-nine-tails embedded with glass, bone, and metal—designed to tear muscle, expose bone, and cause maximum bleeding.
Medical science once said there are 39 root categories of diseases.
Jesus took 39 stripes—one for every root category of affliction.
He didn’t miss a single one.
Philippians 2:9–11 (NKJV)
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth,
and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.”
Every sickness has a name—but the Name of Jesus is greater than them all.
III. HEALING IS NOT A BONUS – IT’S BLOOD-BOUGHT
1 Peter 2:24 (NKJV)
“…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”
Matthew 8:16–17 (NKJV)
“When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed.
And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
‘He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.’”
Psalm 103:2–3 (NKJV)
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases.”
If the blood can handle your eternal sin, it can handle your temporary sickness.
IV. HEALING FLOWS TO WHOLE PEOPLE, NOT PERFECT PEOPLE
Mark 5:25–29 (NKJV)
“Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,
and had suffered many things from many physicians.
She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.
When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.
For she said, ‘If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.’
Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up,
Is
and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.”
She didn’t touch Jesus out of perfection—she touched Him out of desperation.
She didn’t wait for an invitation—she made a demand on power.
Key Principle:
The blood flows to faith.
V. THE BLOOD STILL SPEAKS TODAY
Hebrews 12:24 (NKJV)
“…to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.”
* Abel’s blood cried for vengeance.
* Jesus’ blood cries for mercy, healing, peace, restoration.
* The Blood speaks on your behalf
VI. PLEAD THE BLOOD LIKE ISRAEL APPLIED IT
Exodus 12:7, 13 (NKJV)
“And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses…
Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are.
And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you…”
* Israel didn’t just believe in the blood—they applied it.
* The protection wasn’t based on the people—it was based on the marking.
Where to Apply the Blood Today:
* Over your body – command healing to your immune system, blood, organs, bones.
* Over your mind – speak peace and clarity over trauma, fear, confusion.
* Over your home – protect your children, marriage, and family line.
* Over your identity – remind the enemy you are not for sale.
* Over your future – plead the blood over your destiny, calling, and purpose.
Revelation 12:11 (NKJV)
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”
