PREDIGTNOTIZEN

.The Word is a Seed
The Word of God is a seed—but not just any seed. It is incorruptible.
1 Peter 1:23 (KJV)
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
This seed can never be corrupted, altered, or weakened. The enemy has no power to corrupt the seed. His strategy is to corrupt the soil.
The soil is the heart.
Mark 7:1–23 (NLT) 1 One day some Pharisees and teachers of religious law arrived from Jerusalem to see Jesus.2 They noticed that some of his disciples failed to follow the Jewish ritual of hand washing before eating.3 (The Jews, especially the Pharisees, do not eat until they have poured water over their cupped hands, as required by their ancient traditions.4 Similarly, they don’t eat anything from the market until they immerse their hands in water. This is but one of many traditions they have clung to—such as their ceremonial washing of cups, pitchers, and kettles.)5 So the Pharisees and teachers of religious law asked him, “Why don’t your disciples follow our age-old tradition? They eat without first performing the hand-washing ceremony.”
6 Jesus replied, “You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote,
‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.7 Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’8 For you ignore God’s law and substitute your own tradition.”9 Then he said, “You skillfully sidestep God’s law in order to hold on to your own tradition.10 For instance, Moses gave you this law from God: ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and ‘Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.’11 But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.’12 In this way, you let them disregard their needy parents.13 And so you cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition. And this is only one example among many others.”14 Then Jesus called to the crowd to come and hear. “All of you listen,” he said, “and try to understand.15 It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.”17 Then Jesus went into a house to get away from the crowd, and his disciples asked him what he meant by the parable he had just used.18 “Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you?19 Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)20 And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you.21 For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder,22 adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness.23 All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”

(KJV) Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
(NLT) Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life
(AMPC)Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
(TPT)So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are.Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.

Judas heard the same words Peter heard. He sat under the perfect preaching of the Incorruptible Seed—Jesus Himself.
John 6:70–71 (KJV)
“Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?”
John 12:6 (KJV)
“This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief…”
Luke 22:3–4 (KJV)
“Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.”
John 13:2 (KJV)
“And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot... to betray him.”
Acts 1:25 (KJV)
“...Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.”
Judas was not destroyed because the seed was corrupted—it wasn’t. The enemy corrupted the soil. He gained access to Judas’s heart.

MARK 4
Jesus describes four types of soil (hearts):
1. The wayside – Word is snatched by Satan immediately.

2. Stony ground – Receives it with joy, but has no root—offense causes it to wither.

3. Thorny ground – Word is choked by cares, deceit of riches, and lusts.

4. Good ground – Receives, hears, and bears fruit—some 30, 60, and 100 fold.

5 Things You Can Do to Make the Seed of the Word Take Root in Your Life
1. Guard Your Heart Daily
Proverbs 4:23 reminds us that the heart is the soil. Guard it. Protect it. Refuse offense, bitterness, or secret sin. The enemy can’t corrupt the seed—but he will do everything to pollute the soil. Keep your heart pure before God.

2. Stay in the Word Consistently
You don’t grow from what you heard one time—you grow from what you meditate on daily. Joshua 1:8 says to meditate on the Word day and night. Make it a habit. Read it, speak it, pray it, and let it go deep.

3. Apply What You Hear
James 1:22 says, “Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only.” The Word takes root when you obey it. Obedience is the watering of the seed. The more you walk in it, the more fruit it bears.

4. Stay Planted in the Right Environment
Psalm 92:13 says, “Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish.” The right church, the right relationships, the right atmosphere matters. The wrong environment will choke the seed—but the right one will help it grow strong.

5. Fight Off the Vultars
In Mark 4, the birds came to steal the seed. Those birds represent distractions, demonic attacks, and discouragement. You must fight to keep what God speaks over you. Take authority in prayer, and refuse to let the Word be stolen.
